HIV and HEP C:  Past, Present and Future 
Kelly McCann, Chief Executive Officer, AIDS Foundation Houston 

8:30 a.m. – 11.45 a.m.

This workshop will review the history of HIV in the United States and its progression as well as co-factors influencing the disease's progression.  Participants will learn the latest testing and treatment methods for HIV and will be able to summerize HIV with regard to epidemiological, social and political factors. In conclusion, Kelly will discuss the discovery of Hepatitis C and teach participants its symptoms, transmission, testing and treatment.  Kelly McCann brings 22 years experience in the field of corrections, community mental health and HIV services.  She joined the staff of AIDS Foundation Houston in 2001 as Vice President of Community Resources and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in August 2005. 

Ethics in Clinical Practice
Jeffrey Christie, LCSW, CEAP

1:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Broaden your awareness of the role and significance of ethics in professional practice by examining contemporary ethical dilemmas and their implications using an ethical decision-making model.  Jeffrey Christie, Global Manager of the Employee Assistance Program for Halliburton Company will lecture on the role and significance of ethics in professional practice and outline the various recourses available to address perceived ethical violations.  Jeff brings 26 years experience in Human Relations and Employee Assistance Programs to his lecture.  He has authored and co-authored numerous publications benefiting Employee Assistance professionals, two of which were specific to ethics.
