Join The ARK and The Council on Recovery for Houston’s 2nd Annual REEL Recovery Film Festival taking place September 25 – 27 as the culmination of Recovery Month. This multi-day event is a celebration of filmmakers who make honest films about addiction, alcoholism, behavioral disorders, treatment and recovery. Slated for screening is an eclectic lineup of contemporary and classic films, documentaries and shorts from American and international, first-time filmmakers and industry veterans. Join us for this year’s Addicted to Comedy showcase on Saturday, October 3, 2015 celebrating Recovery Month. Headliner Jose Sarduy will be joined by comedians Shayla Rivera and Jay Lafarr for an entertaining evening at The Council on Recovery. Yoga & Meditation at The Council are classes offered at The Council that are open to the public and free of charge. Beginner Yoga and Meditation Classes are held every Tuesday from noon to 1:15 p.m. and every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Slow Stretch Yoga for Addiction Recovery is offered on Saturday mornings from 10:30 – 11:30 am.
An Evening with… is our ongoing series that brings nationally recognized leaders to the Council to inform a general audience on popular topics and trends in the speaker’s area of expertise.
Friday Forums are one-day, 6-hour workshops offered several times a year. They provide professionals an oppotunity to earn 6 CEU credits while gaining in-depth knowledge on a variety of subjects—typically topics that reflect current trends in behavioral and other healthcare.
Weekend Intensives allow individuals and families to focus on specific issues to gain insight and opportunities for accelerated growth, led by Council therapists who highly qualified experts on the topic.
