Events, Workshops & Classes

The Council believes that life-long learning is essential for maintaining and enhancing recovery. We provide a wide range of learning opportunities, including continuing education workshops for professionals, as well as events for individuals seeking personal growth. Some examples of our offerings include:

Substance Abuse: Fact or Fiction? is an introductory class about substance use, issues involved in it, and resources for addressing it. It is helpful for those who are required to take a class by the courts, CPS or an employer, as well as for those who seek information for themselves or a loved one.

Yoga & Meditation at The Council is a new class offered at The Council. Held every Tuesday from noon to 1:15 p.m., it is open to the public at no fee.

An Evening with… is our ongoing series that brings nationally recognized leaders to the Council to inform a general audience on popular topics and trends in the speaker’s area of expertise.

Friday Forums are one-day, 6-hour workshops offered several times a year. They provide professionals an oppotunity to earn 6 CEU credits while gaining in-depth knowledge on a variety of subjects—typically topics that reflect current trends in behavioral and other healthcare.

Weekend Intensives allow individuals and families to focus on specific issues to gain insight and opportunities for accelerated growth, led by Council therapists who highly qualified experts on the topic.
